Senator Shehu Sani Reacts After Python Escapes Cage in Kano
Kano — Former Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the escape of a pet python from its cage in Kano State, expressing concern over the incident and the safety of residents in the affected area.
The large reptile reportedly broke free from its enclosure on Friday, triggering panic in the neighborhood. Despite efforts by locals and authorities, the python’s whereabouts remain unknown as of the time of reporting.
The incident sparked widespread discussion online, with many questioning the decision to keep such a dangerous animal as a pet.
Responding via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Senator Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly, criticized the owner’s actions.
“I don’t know the rationale behind a man keeping a python as a pet in Kano. Now that it has reportedly escaped, I feel for his neighbors,” Sani posted.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the matter, while search efforts for the escaped reptile continue.
