“Take My Wife’s Picture Off Your Page” — Davido Responds to Actress Sarah Martins Over Restaurant Comments
Afrobeats star Davido has publicly addressed Nollywood actress Sarah Martins after she commented on his newly launched restaurant-themed project tied to his latest album promotion.
According to Vanguard, Martins had taken to Instagram to suggest that the initiative would have been more meaningful if it had been named in honor of Davido’s wife, Chioma, whom she praised for her cooking abilities. She shared a photo of Chioma and expressed her admiration, stating that branding the restaurant in Chioma’s name could have elevated the venture and further complemented Davido’s 5ive Star album.
Martins emphasized that her remarks weren’t meant as criticism but came from a place of genuine respect and admiration. “I’ve always wished to see Chioma have a restaurant of her own,” she said, suggesting that such a move could also promote Davido’s music.
Despite the positive tone of her message, Davido didn’t take kindly to the post. Responding directly in the comment section, he clarified that what Martins referred to as a restaurant launch was actually a temporary promotional campaign in collaboration with the FoodCourt app.
Clearly frustrated, Davido demanded that the actress remove his wife’s image from her page. “U no get sense … no restaurant was opened that was a promotional campaign with @foodcourt_app for my album. Now take my wife’s picture off your page,” he wrote.
The exchange has since stirred reactions online, with fans debating the boundaries between admiration and intrusion into celebrities’ personal lives.
