Reno Omokri Jailed Over Explosive Defamation Allegations

A Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has ordered the remand of popular social media influencer Reno Omokri over allegations of defamation. Alongside Omokri, a former Dunamis Church pastor, Abraham Daniel, and two others, Enenche Idoga Alexander and Oboyinlo Enenche Peter, were also remanded in custody for the same offense.

The ruling, issued by Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Ayanna, was based on an ex-parte motion filed by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, through his lawyer, Francis Gabriel, on January 13, 2025.
