Hisbah Confiscates Over 200 Cartons of Alcohol in Sokoto

The Sokoto State Hisbah Board has seized over 200 cartons of alcoholic beverages at the Central Motor Park in Sokoto.s. He further revealed that the board would consult the State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General to decide on the appropriate action.

Jatau stressed that the rules governing conduct in the state are not intended to discriminate or create disorder but serve as guidelines for lawful and moral behavior.
He urged residents to adhere to Islamic principles, cautioning against prohibited practices such as gender mingling, inappropriate dress codes, and illicit activities.

“All events, including ceremonies and anniversaries, must comply with Sharia teachings,” Jatau said, adding that selling or distributing illegal substances at public gatherings is strictly forbidden.

The Hisbah Board’s actions align with its commitment to maintaining moral and religious standards in Sokoto State.
