JUST IN: Security Forces Raid ESN Hideout, Arrest Multiple Suspects

Security forces in Imo State have successfully dismantled a suspected hideout of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Aku, Okigwe Local Government Area.
The operation, which spanned several weeks, targeted a key base allegedly used to coordinate attacks on both security personnel and civilians. The hideout was linked to a notorious ESN commander known as “Gentle.”
During the raid, law enforcement officers uncovered a significant cache of weapons and other incriminating materials, resulting in the arrest of multiple suspects.
ASP Henry Okoye, the Police Public Relations Officer for Imo State, confirmed the operation in a social media statement, highlighting the collaborative efforts of various security agencies and the role of intelligence gathering in its success.
Authorities described the raid as a critical step in exposing the group’s criminal activities, often carried out under the pretense of a freedom struggle. The arrested suspects are now in custody and are providing valuable information to assist ongoing investigations.
