Manchester United Legend Wayne Rooney Discusses Player to Fill Void Left by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in Recent Interview

Wayne Rooney revealed in an interview with Sky Sports that the young England international Jude Bellingham is poised to fill in the big shoes left behind by football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Jude Bellingham, who completed a move to Real Madrid estimated to be worth over 100 million euros in June 2023, has been off to a flying start in the Spanish La Liga, recording over 20 goals plus assists in the 2023/2024 season so far.

Wayne Rooney stated in the interview that Jude Bellingham is poised to win the Ballon d’Or if he continues with this fine form.

He said, “If he keeps doing what he’s doing, then why not? Again, we’ve gone through that cycle of Messi and Ronaldo where they’ve dominated. I’m sure there will be five or six players fighting to try and win the next one. I’m sure if Bellingham keeps this up, he will be right up there.”
