Burna Boy and Fireboy DML Light Up BMI London Awards 2023

Afrobeats sensations Burna Boy and Fireboy DML have once again brought honour to Nigeria at the BMI London Awards in 2023.
They both secured the coveted ‘Most Performed Work of the Year’ awards, joining a distinguished list of over 20 recipients.
Burna Boy‘s track ‘Last Last’ and Fireboy DML’s collaboration with British singer Ed Sheeran on ‘Peru’ were among the distinguished winners.
In addition to this, another Nigerian talent, record producer Richard Isong, known as P2J, received the prestigious ‘Impact Award’ for his remarkable contributions to the music industry.
The awards ceremony also recognized British music legend Gary Kemp with the ‘Icon Award,’ celebrating his outstanding career.
Furthermore, American singer Doja Cat’s afrobeat-infused song ‘Woman’ was honoured with the ‘Song of the Year’ award, further highlighting the global influence of Afrobeats in the music industry.
