President Tinubu Discloses Provoking Actions That Led to Naval Officer Slapping Him in the US

Nigeria’s President and All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has opened up about an incident where he was slapped by a naval officer during his time as a taxi driver in the United States.
In his recently released biography titled “Tinubu: My Life as a Gypsy Cab Driver in the US,” President Bola Ahmed Tinubu shared the story of his humble beginnings and how he worked as an unlicensed taxi driver in Chicago, providing transportation services from the airport to various destinations.
President Tinubu recounted, “We acquired an unregistered used car commonly known as a Gypsy, which we operated as a taxi. Our operations were primarily at the airport, where we picked up passengers. We strictly adhered to this location, as it was prohibited for unlicensed cab drivers to operate elsewhere. I did this for a while to earn some money.”
In his narrative, President Tinubu recalled an incident where he unintentionally overcharged a naval officer who was returning to Nigeria. Unaware of the exact destination, President Tinubu quoted a price, which led the naval officer to respond with a slap to his face, reprimanding him for not knowing the correct fare. President Tinubu stated, “He slapped me and handed me the money.”
