Sani Usman: Last Time That The Military Got Military Equipments Procured For Them Was In 1980’s

The Former Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman, has praised the Nigerian military for fighting terrorism despite the deficiency in the area of procurement of new weapons for the military by the Nigerian government.
According to General Sani Usman, the last time the military got military equipments procured for them by the government was as far back as early 1980’s.
General Sani Usman revealed that it was the Shehu Shagari administration in the 1980’s that ensured that equipments was procured for the military in Nigeria.

Speaking further, General Sani Usman disclosed that in a democratic government, the process of procuring equipments for the military can be bureaucratic in nature.
General Sani Usman was of the opinion that despite the challenges that are being faced the the Nigerian military, the Nigerian military has been able to handle terrorism better than countries like Colombia that fought terrorism for 58 years.
