Akpabio, Yari In Tight Race As Voting Commences
The race for who becomes the Senate President for the 10th National Assembly (NASS) gets intense on Tuesday morning as voting commenced at the Red Chamber in Abuja, Nigeria.
Voting begun at exactly 08:45am on a state by state basis, alphabetically.
Atiku Warns Tinubu
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s Democracy Day broadcast showed that he planned on running an autocratic government.
Atiku’s Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, said this in a statement on Monday evening, noting that Tinubu’s speech was a veiled threat to the nation’s judiciary, which is in the process of determining the credibility of his election.
ASUU, ASUP Express Doubts Over Student Loan
President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, in Abuja, signed the Student Loan Bill into law.
The signing of the bill was in “fulfilment of one of his campaign promises to liberalise funding of education,” a member of the Presidential Strategic Team, Dele Alake, told State House Correspondents on Monday evening.
Judiciary Should Expect More Reforms- Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu says there will be more reforms in the country’s judiciary.
The president said court orders that truncate democracy would no longer be allowed.
Tinubu spoke on Monday during his maiden Democracy Day speech as president.
