“Wike Formed Alliance with Muslim Because of His Personal Interest” – Labour Party Says
The River’s State Labour Party has frowned at Governor Nyesom Wike’s alleged decision to support the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2023 elections on Saturday, arguing that he shouldn’t have formed alliance with the party which he had previously criticised over its decision to field Muslim/Muslim ticket. The LP group stated that Governor Wike’s decision was selfish and hypocritical, which was taken for his personal political interest.
2023 Election: The G-5 governors will support Tinubu – Orji Kalu
The condemnation was made by the National Vice Chairman, South South, Labour Party, Favour Reuben, during a press briefing in Port Harcourt.
In his words: “We are hearing that our Governor Wike, who few years back declared our state as a Christian State because he was running for election, has made a U-turn overnight and suddenly decided to form an alliance with Muslim – Muslim ticket because of his personal interest.”
The LP vice chairman also urged Governor Nyesom Wike to make his decision public ahead of the 2023 elections.
